Fielding Abstractions (from here to there eventually) was the culminating exhibition and performance of a year long series of prompts and field research in collaboration with artist Petra Klusmeyer.  The work explored the notion of non-cochlear sound and how sound itself can relate to spatial temporalities and the visual.  The cornerstone piece of the exhibition was a 30 minute guitar composition for stereo entitled "Stereo for Mill" that occured during the opening. Coinciding with the exhibition/ performance was a 2 day workshop with students from the University of Arts Bremen, in Bremen Germany.  Generously supported by a faculty grant from Columbia College Chicago and the Stuhr-Heiligenrode Residency program.  Click on the image of 16mm projectors for a link to Sonic Peripheries site.
